Nick is invited to Gatsby party. While he is there he ends up meeting up with Jordan because she is the only one that he actually knows. The two of them seemed to keep to themselves for the most part. They did end up going to watch everyone else to get entertained. While they were watching everyone else, a guy came up and asked Nick if they had met before. turned out that this guy was Mr. Gatsby. the two of them had fought together in the WW 1. later during the night Jordan was called into Gatsby's office. Nick then began to express how he felt about Jordan even though she cheated and what not. Nick thinks that he is a very honest person. When they were going home they ran into a guy that had gone into the ditch. he was drunk.
Mutability may be shown in this chapter because of the way Nick is accepting Jordan. He knows that Jordan is not an honest person and he is a very honest person, but yet he is still attracted to her.
Question: What happened to the guy in the ditch? Did he ever get any help?
